The Real Presence: The Mass is a 28-minute film that reveals the unseen spiritual world of the Catholic Mass through a combination of beautiful liturgical imagery and artistic augmented reality. With alarming statistics showing that many Catholics no longer believe in this foundational truth, the film seeks to reawaken faith and offer compelling insights into what the Church teaches about the Real Presence.

At every Mass, Catholics believe that heaven and earth come together. Yet what happens during the liturgy often goes unnoticed or unappreciated. This film explores what is truly taking place at Mass—what is happening even when it cannot be seen. Are angels and saints present? Is time suspended as heaven meets earth? What changes occur in the soul of someone who receives the Holy Eucharist with faith? Using real footage from a Catholic Mass and overlaying it with digital animations, the film gives a reverent and creative glimpse behind the spiritual veil. Privately funded and produced by Joseph Helow and Barton Productions in Jacksonville, Florida, The Real Presence: The Mass was a two-year labor of love. A small group of dedicated individuals helped make the project a reality. It is now being offered entirely free of charge to Catholic institutions and to the public. Whether used in dioceses, parishes, schools, OCIA classes, or simply by individuals seeking truth, the film is a gift to the Church and the world—an invitation to rediscover the mystery at the heart of the Catholic faith.
